In March 2023, a devastating fire swept through the historical heart of Banská Štiavnica, causing significant destruction to roofs and beamed ceilings that were adorned with irreplaceable artistic works and craftsmanship. Fortunately, just a few months prior to this calamity, we had undertaken a comprehensive documentation of the facades and roofs, preserving their pre-damage state. Despite the efforts of many, the historical beamed ceilings in certain buildings suffered damage to such an extent that restoration was deemed impossible. In response to this tragedy, we were commissioned to document the most significant ceilings within the historical center. Presented here are two ceilings of the Jozef Kollár Gallery, showcasing the rich heritage and the resilience in the face of adversity.
